James Cook University (J.C.U.):

J.C.U. has several campuses across Queensland in Townsville, Thursday Island, Singapore, Brisbane, Mackay, Mount Isa and Cairns. The Cairns campus has over 3,500 students. Among them are about 300 international students.  J.C.U. Cairns is located close to rainforest-covered mountains. Among its facilities are an information technology building, student refectory, café, gym, and other sporting facilities. Student accommodation can be found near the campus and close to the beach.

There are a broad range of courses available to study at J.C.U. Cairns. Various areas of humanities and social studies are available to be learned at the campus ranging from anthropology, history, languages other than English to psychology. Students can also study business in a variety of specialisations from accounting to management. There are also degree programs in engineering, information technology, education, creative industries, law and sciences.
